CURRICULUM
When choosing our curriculum, we knew we had to choose the most effective set of tools to enhance our student’s way of thinking and learning where they could adapt to any environment. Our focus is getting each student ready for the future. To get them ready we had to choose the most effective ways to achieve school readiness goals that will meet the needs of all learners. Our goal decisions come from our intensive background of teaching students, engaging with families, engaging with our community schools, and following the development of education standards. Our goals are:
- Develop in children and parents a positive attitude towards self, others, school and learning
- Establishing independence, self-esteem, and confidence while fostering learning at a child’s own pace.
- Foster a sense of self-confidence and well-being in each student
- Have them master cognitive thinking skills in the four developmental areas of learning and common core standard
INFANT/TODDLER
Our Infant/Toddler classroom has a caring and nurturing environment. To encourage the growth of their development, we teach many different fine and gross motor skills. The Infant/ Toddler class is the start of our child development, learning and effective teaching. We use the Creative Curriculum and Funshine Curriculum to enhance our student’s developmental skills. This class also operates on a schedule and has a daily lesson plan. Although, our students are a lot younger in this class, we still want them to explore many different fine and gross motor activities. The teachers who operate this class plan their instruction based on daily observations of students and attend all professional development trainings to enhance teaching abilities.

Swaddler
In our Swaddler classroom we have ages 2 ½ to 3 years old. Our students start learning independence, self-control, and they learn how to use their creativity. We follow the Creative Curriculum and Funshine Curriculum for our instruction where we address the four areas of development: social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive. All students in this class receive trimonthly reports because they are observed daily and assessed with the Creative Curriculum Gold. To ensure our students are receiving daily instructions in each of the four areas of development, students are encouraged to participate in sixty minutes of learning center, cooking class, indoor and outdoor play, dance class, small group, and large group activities.
Preschool UPK/Kindergarten
We offer a high quality preschool program with qualified and dedicated teachers at DMI Prep. Our classroom instructions are based on the Department of Education Unit Study’s and Creative Curriculum. Our students enjoy a highly enriched schedule from the time they arrive to the time they depart. They enjoy a nutritious breakfast, morning meeting, learning centers, snack, small group activity, outdoor and indoor play, lunch, cooking classes, dance classes, large group, field trips, family events, music and movement, and departure. We ensure that our students will be independent and have self-control and be able to proclaim themselves in socially acceptable ways. The language skills they will possess will exceed the limited vocabulary and sentence structure of their peers. We have an advance assessment system that we operate daily to make sure our students are making progress in all four developmental areas. Our teacher’s instruction is evaluated very often to make sure they are meeting the needs of all learners and to ensure each student will be prepared for the future.
